What we do in practice in WebLager® may not be anything special.
Those who know us from our time as Dansk Scanning – and today as WebLager® may know what we do.
And those who know us a little better may also know how we do it.
So what do we do?
We scan and store documents for public and private organizations and digitize them into our own archive system called WebLager®.
How do we do it?
This is done through our professional scanners, our well-developed software and the use of our own wind turbines to finance all energy consumption.
But why do we do that…?
What most people don’t know, and what we may not even know ourselves, is why we do it?
Why do we do what we do?
Why was WebLager® created?
Why are we relevant to the planet?
Why do we still exist after 30 years?
These questions could sound like a company that is in an existential crisis with itself, and has a naive belief that a name change should be the solution to everything.
But the truth is different, because WebLager® has never been stronger.
But it never hurts to stop to think about your purpose and contribution to the world after 30 years in the industry.
No believe in digitalization
In 1995 when Henning Kirkegaard and Co got together to start Dansk Scanning/WebLager®, the purpose was clear: to preserve history through digital innovation.
At that time, no one had this belief in digitalization, and those who did were seen as insane.
The same can almost be said when WebLager® started investing in its own wind turbines in the early 2000s, before words like sustainability and the green transition were part of our vocabulary.
And today, when we talk about a flexible working environment, we have already taken the initiative of giving people the freedom of making their own flexible work schedule.
All of these stories and initiatives have, in their own way, had the purpose of predicting the future and seeing how we can find our way to protect the future.
Now we stick our head out.
We haven’t always been good at putting our values and considerations into words, but we want to change that.
For our purpose today is: to preserve history so that we can protect the future here and now.
For us, document management is not just about efficiency. It’s about responsibility. Every case, every document and every file is part of a bigger picture, which is why we believe that every story is worth preserving.
For more than 30 years, we have worked with document management for both public and private organizations.
It hasn’t always been the easiest path, and the development has required investment, adaptation and a willingness to think long-term.
We don’t strive to be the loudest in the industry. For us, it’s more important to deliver solutions that last and make a real difference over time.
Now it’s time to conclude
So no, we may not be anything special, but you don’t have to be to make a difference.
A good heart is enough.
So join us on this journey with articles about innovative and responsible stories.
Stories about how we protect the past and the future together.
